One of the main steps in a good Skin Care regime is exfoliation of the skin. There are numerous ways to slough the dead skin off one’s skin, may it be Body or face. The most easy and efficient way of  exfoliation of the skin is by using Scrubs. Body scrubs are one of the main steps in taking the skin to the next level of smoothness and softness.

I have been using various body scrubs for a very long time. Since I was always interested in keeping the skin soft even when I was young and in my teens 🙂 This regime has continued with me even after my marriage 🙂

I had never tried anything natural for my body apart from Ubtan which is a mixture of turmeric and a bit of sandalwood mixed with rose-water. This mixture is usually applied to a bride-to-be for making her skin soft, supple and glowing for the groom-to-be 😉

So, when I came across a much talked and raved about home-made body scrub from Scoop o Scrub which is an on-line page selling their home-made body and lip scrubs, my curiosity got the better of me and I succumbed to the temptation of trying it out. Hence, I ordered it and upon receiving it I quickly opened the jar up and took a whiff of it and fell in love with it instantly.

Read on to find out my thoughts on it 🙂

scoop of scrub

The Body Scrub comes in a sturdy plastic jar/tub with a pink lid on top to secure it. On top of the pink lid is a cute label with scoop.scrub.repeat (how cute;) printed on top of it. The plastic jar/tub is pretty sturdy and of good quality. The scrub is dark brown in colour. It comes with a printed guideline on a cute card which says:

Take a scoop of our amazing

body scrub and apply it on wet skin.

Scrub in circular motion for 2 minutes.

Rinse off. For best results use while in shower.

I can’t pin point exactly about the fragrance but yes it is heavenly.  It is a sugar based scrub with essential oils. So, the fragrance is good and not over powering too. As it has sugar in it and this scrub is for the body so the scrub is pretty granular.

I used this in the shower after I used my body wash.It is recommended to stir the scrub before use. As it is pretty granular so you need a little amount to use on your body to work its magic. Scrub in circular motions to slough off the dead skin off the body. The body should be wet to aid the scrubbing. Don’t use it on dry skin. Only scoop out a little bit and you can take out more as needed. I also like to concentrate the scrub more on the dry areas of my body like knees, feet and elbows. After rinsing the body off with water, my skin felt extremely soft and supple with no dryness or dead skin visible on my body. The sugar in the scrub helps in exfoliation of the dry patches and skin and the essential oils help to restore the moisture and makes the skin look healthy, soft and supple 🙂

  • Smells divine.
  • Easy to use.
  •  Natural.
  • Makes the skin soft and supple.
  • Scrubs efficiently.
  • Good value for money

  • A bit chunky and granular, if taken a big scoop tends to fall off. Though if used in small scoops doesn’t cause any of the former 🙂

Hell yea!! a definite re-purchase 🙂

The Body Scrub comes in two sizes:

200 grams for Rs .550/

400 grams for Rs. 850/

It is available on-line Facebook Scoop o Scrub.

I would highly recommend all of you to try this Body Scrub out as from the packaging to the results of the scrub are very good. Plus it is pocket friendly and lasts a long time as one doesn’t need huge chunks to work the dead skin off. It is good value for money and I am sure you won’t be I wasn’t 🙂

I hope you enjoyed reading the review. Have you tried any other body scrubs that are amazing? Let me know.

Take care and remember,

An action is a reaction of thought 🙂

  1. Sounds wonderful, on my way to add it to my wishlist, thanks for sharing about it, have to say your reviews are amazing and your blog is helping me a lot in increasing my awareness about beauty and wellness 🙂 I do have one question about this product though, maybe I am way off, and if so then please forgive me, but since it’s a home made herbal product so I assume it has a limited shelf life? Can you please tell me for how long can this be safely used after the jar has been opened? Thanks again! 🙂

    1. No you are not off topic. This is a valid question and I forgot to write about it in the post. The shelf life of the scrub is 3 to 4 months ☺ hope that answers your question.
